SANDYROE iTS THE MIDDLE LETTEROF TWINE I HAVE SO TWIST GIVES ME THE SAME OUTCOME the clue is "Strong fine cotton thread or material" and it begins with a T and ends with an E
So I'm still in a quandry!

Thanks Scorpiojo and Elliemay1 I think you may have cracked it for me as the starting T for my twine came from cotTon but I can make wolLen out of that giving me the L of Lisle

23a (6) Plain woven ribbed material and I went for COTTON and yes its the second T that I'm using so I can correct my spelling!!

It may be 'poplin' as there is no word spelt as 'wollen'
