I took a note of a quiz I wanted to send for but I'm not sure of the theme.Can anybody help,please? Cheques had to be paid to Mrs A Osgothorpe.I've searched through the list of quizzes but can't find it.

Hi scorpiojo,checked your answer-that was a quiz in July 2009.I haven't sent for the quiz yet but sent an e-mail asking what the theme was.Just got a message saying e-mail couldn't be delivered. I wrote down the address but was waiting for an answer to my e-mail before I sent for the quiz.Won't bother now.Thanks for your help-at least I know that Mrs. A Osgothorpe exists lol

Initially, the smelting works concentrated on copper. Coal was brought down to them by waggonways and tramways; copper ore was brought on ships which could sail right up to the works; and the resulting copper was exported out again the same way. Swansea became known as Copperopolis; and the lower Tawe valley became a mass of industry. In the wake of the copper and coal industry followed pottery-making (another industry which requires large amounts of coal, together with clay and flint, which could be shipped in from the West Country); the alum industry (based on pyrites found with coal); and the manufacture of fire-clay, which was used to line furnaces

Oh I too am an addict, 20 to 30 a month approx over the year - love them, certainly keeps the mind ticking over doesn't it.
