It's not even the end of July and I have already seen my first 'festive' menu and Christmas Day menu :(

Any day now people will start asking me if I have finished my Christmas shopping.
Oh goody sherrardk! You got to get out of your shoe & book these things early ;0)
lol at blue toffee!
This is entirely our collective fault as a nation! If corporates didn't need to book their Xmas party six months in advance to avoid the risk nowhere being free, none of this would manifest itself until December.

It's the same with Xmas presents and cards in shops. If enough people stopped succumbing to the social pressure which surrounds the aforementioned national holiday, shops would leave it alone.

It's already happening, albeit gradually, with young people who understand what a total scam Xmas cards are and don't bother at all. Coupled to that, every year I get more and more emails from old friends who say that they've stopped sending cards and now make a donation to charity instead.

I can't see the pressure of Xmas presents dissipating any time soon, though.

Any bargains?
This a good time to remind you my birthday is on Christmas day ?
In case Minty forgets to mention it......it's her birthday on Christmas Day..x
Really murray!! & mine on the 27th :0)
my ex was on Christmas Eve !

I hate to tell you this, but the Card Factory already has a stand of Christmas Cards on sale..... :-(
Oh good grief !
will it be minty's birthday on Christmas day again this year? ....
I get mine in the sales on December 26, boxtops. Is 364 days in advance early enough?
I've just checked - my local Esso station will be doing flowers, milk tray and cans of WD40 on Christmas Eve - that should cover most eventualities.
o not another car air freshener dave -can I have a change from vanilla for once?
One of those Christmad Tree shaped ones - with the orange ball?

I actually have a plan this year - I am not going to leave the shopping until the second week of December (but I am not going to bore everyone rigid with my progress)! I am going to get bargains (using the various bargain hunting sites) as I am saving to go on holiday next year. Made massive savings last year by not having the Lego/Hello Kitty advent calendars and having the 'Advent Calendar Bag of Doom' instead (which was a huge hit!).
