So am I , they're always disgusted with themselves - once they've been found out.
I am ashamed myself, wait a minute , I have not been caught yet.
Why was he not sent straight to prison the perv.
jailed for tickling children's feet? That would be a bit over the top.

He did it to the extent that pupils were late for their next class.
He did it for sexual thrills.
He was in a position of trust that he abused.

He should be in prison.
where people get their thrills from isn't really relevant. If he'd sexually abused the children he should be in jail; but tickling isn't sexual abuse - the kids will be none the worse and none the wiser. Making pupils late for class is a matter for the school to deal with.

He's on the sex offenders register, and I think that's enough.
he was a junior school teacher getting his rocks off , jail the perv.
I agree totally with jno............rather stupid, but no big deal.
Question Author
He's on the sex offenders register because he pleaded guilty to 8 counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13. He has sexually abused those children, used them for sexual thrills.

It could be argued then when a baby is sexually abused but not physically injured then the child has not been abused because he will have no memory of it - is that what you are saying?

if you want to jail people for thinking bad things, you're advocating thought police; and I don't want that. If you treat them on the basis of the things they do, which is what courts should be for, then this one didn't do much.

If I'd been the parent of one of the children, I'd be satisfied with him being put on the register and sacked.
I'm not talking about babies or about memory. I don't know why he was charged with sexual assault, but as far as I'm concerned tickling isn't sexual assault, whether you're tickling an adult (and perhaps enjoying it?) or a child.
This is serious offending and a surprised his sentence was suspended.
someone decided on the charges (CPS) he pleaded guilty, go to jail, sign sex offenders reg. for life.

I agree with jno too. It's more our interpretation than how it has affected the children. I've tickled my kids' feet at some point. A bit like when people criticise a photo of a child online, saying "what would paedophiles think?". Imo, that's their problem and doesn't affect the child.
Luckily enough the police cps- courts and all the other relevant agencies recognise & understand this predortory sexual grooming / offending against children.
He was doing it for sexual gratification though. Funnily enough I might have agreed prison was over the top once but there have been many threads on AB about inappropriate teachers eg sex with a 17 year old and most people said because he was in a position of trust that was broken then the 'offence' was far more serious. I bowed to superior opinion.

Whilst it's scary that someone in authority is able to gain sexual gratification in the way he did his crime is (thankfully) far less serious than it could have been, for someone who had ample opportunity.

Whilst disgusted, I'm sure the parents are in some way relieved that it wasn't as serious as other offences and could have been far worse.

Suspended sentence and loss of career is appropriate IMHO.

Of course the parents will be relieved it wasn't something more serious but it is very sinister instigating 'games' with children for sexual thrills.

It was serious enough for him to be sentenced to 15 months in prison, suspended for two years. I'm surprised anyone doesn't think this isn't serious.
I can't imagine i would have been disturbed by it as a child. I might have thought about it more if i then found out he's gone to prison for it. As i said, it's something I've done to my own children. I can't help thinking this is adult point of view, rather than children's.
