I've just got my car ready for some long trips and a few things struck me...

Long trips aren't what they were.....once a trip to Devon and Cornwall from the Midlands would have meant an overnight stop...and passing many cars with the bonnets up while the radiator cooled....

I was remembering the trips I made with MrG when he was too ill to drive..
On once occasion he began to choke and splutter.....Stroke...he was croaking....I'm having a stroke....I'm choking....can't breathe.....

I pulled over...grabbed my phone....and flew around to his side...trying to decide whether to drag him out of the car or try to lay the seat back down for the kiss of life....or some chest thumping...and as I was dialing for help I noticed....

I was taking some runner beans growing in pots to the daughter.....they were behind him and one of the canes had tucked itself under MrG's shirt collar.....when he tried to move forward...he couldn't....it was choking him...the more he tried to move the more it held on to him.....

I flicked up the shirt collar....and hey presto!!!!

He saw the funny side later.....much later......☺

It did, Cupid....but with my sense of direction it still can....x
gness reminds me of the time I thought I thought I was having a heart attack alone driving the car, the sharp pain continued and I drove myself quite calmly and alone to A&E, decided I needed the loo, once in there discovered the underwire in my bra had gotten loose and was digging in my chest, good job I did not actually check in to A& E and make a right tit of myself.
I went on a journey once.
Was it a journey of discovery, shoota ?.
No, I had a Granada at the time....

Boom, boom!
Groan.
That's worth a ban that joke.....

ven what we consider a long journey in the uk is odd. In the past we'd consider a run "home" Aberdeenshire to Ayrshire a long journey but it's not, while in Germany we'd think nothing of driving 300 miles south to an American PX on a Sunday morning then home same day... no issue.... times change!!
