Further to my earlier query re. transferring a domain name, I have been told that my domain name does not necessarily have to be with the host for my web-site. Anyone can confirm this?

This is true. My domain is tagged against uk2.net. The DNS for it is managed by discountasp.net and my hosting is with them too.

Great stuff. Thanks a lot.
Yes it's correct, I bought my domain name, but hosted my site on the free webspace (without ads or pop ups) that my ISP provided. You can also add a simple script so your domain name appears in the address bar instead of the isp free webspace name

Thanks for the input. Much appreciated. Having difficulty uploading at the moment. Problem is, not understanding the jargon most of the time.
I write my own html using notepad, though I'm a bit rusty at the moment. I used IPswitch WS_FTP (free version) for uploading files. It's ok once u get the hang of it
