I have never understood it either - if you want intimate photos for your own use much better to use a Camera with film.

That way you are much more in control of the images.
I have to admit that the cloud concept confuses me

My phone automatically uploads to the cloud. I know how to prevent it, others might not.
It just appeared one day on my iTunes library - it could still be there
no idea AOG. Mamya digital cameras are safer than film ones IMO because there is no film to be processed so no strangers ever need to see your pics. Really really personal pictures need never leave the camera, or can be printed directly off the camera using your own printer.
Good point Woof, you're right - though my days of posing nude are past I fear.

On the one hand clouds are handy as they reduce the reliance on hardware and the risk of permanently losing vital data. On the other hand it does have some security risks. I don't think it's stupid to use the cloud but people should be mor careful. Unfortunately these days mistakes that most people would have mase get magnified out of all proportion in the Internet age.

If one buys a CD from Amazon, not only does one receives the actual album of course, but the tracks are also stored on their 'CLOUD' for one's own convenience.
in all seriousness, i have used a digital camera twice for very personal photos. One was to record an area of extensive and impressive bruising, caused by my leaping dogs, before a mammogram so that if anything showed up on the mammogram due to the bruising, I had a record of where it had been. The other was to show my late mother the progress of a wound on her back where a skin cancer had been removed. I couldn't/wouldn't have done either of those things with a film camera, well maybe with a polaroid camera but the film is no longer made.

Better get rid of your old Brownie Box camera then. :0)
All evidence has been destroyed, trust me.

Well I know this guy who used to work for ............. processing Lab.
He's under the patio, you won't be seeing him again.
I have always been wary of cloud storage, but just get scorned by folk who claim it is being paranoid, and everything is encoded and safe.

Like much in today's world, we are supposed to trust all sorts of IMO dodgy latest things, imposed. We even get companies who are really keen to place their vital industrial secrets into someone else's hands based on a promise, "All is well, trust us".

Which reminds me I must write to my bank about contactless cashpoint/debit cards.
There are some nude photos of me out there somewhere, not digital copies. I was 17 years old and very drunk when they were taken. My boyfriend of the time worked in a photo processing place so god knows how many copies were printed. I never saw the photos myself and have no idea what he did with them.
If you never saw them how do you know you were not simply being teased ?

Were you more careful about drink after that ?
I know they were taken og, I may have been drunk but not so drunk that I didn't know what was going on, in fact I have never been drunk enough to be unaware of my actions! The photos exist, I know a couple of people who have seen them (one of my sisters and a friend), I never saw them as I split with the boyfriend soon after the photos were taken.
I love the judgemental little dig there by the way.
There wasn't one. It was a genuine question.

Why Would Anyone Be Stupid Enough To Store Anything Private, (Not Just Photos) On Some 'cloud' Storage
