Does anybody else think that this crossword has become very boring? It now seems to be all films, TV shows and authors, and is really not much more than a Googling exercise. It was much more interesting a few years back when Chris Feetenby compiled it - I think his son now does it. The prize is £1,500: it should be more challenging!
Some people like to win prizes though, marjessica. We get quite a few on here who ask for a list of answers fro take a break etc and there some who just copy all the answers from the spoiler sites. It's not my idea of fun but some struggle with cryptics and prefer a crossword that's accessible or where the prize make sit worthwhile googling all the answers
the Mid cornwall advetiser can be a bit tricky. as l am of a certain age l still use a great book called A to Z of almost everything, only go to google as a last result. have not won the £1.500 prize yet , going to keep on trying.
Has anyone ever heard of or know of a prize winner for this crossword - I have been sending off my answers every week for many years ( and the You mag) with no luck
I just wonder why when the answers to the clues are easily solved by looking them up on the Internet that people just ask for them on the Crossword site to save a bit of effort. Time was we'd be spending ages poring over dictionaries or encyclopaedias looking for an answer.
