Following on from nailit's thread below, I would be interested to know what common foods you will not eat and why. Some years ago my sister-in-law put on a picnic for her daughter's wedding guests. Some of them were rugby players from the local club, and two of them said they could not eat chicken drumsticks "because they have bones in them". ???

I couldn't eat meat with bones in it for a couple of years following an emergency call-out as a junior regional archaeology unit field worker. Cooked meat and bones looks distressingly like the decayed product at a certain stage.
No more detail. I went into the shower fully clothed and booted at the end of that day's work. I can understand the bones in meat thing.

I couldn't think of a food I'd never eat until I seen Baldric's reply, I had a visitor a month back and decided to get in some Marmite for her, having never tasted it myself, I decided to open it and spread on my toast as she made it sound absolutely delish... I was very sick for almost 2 days having tasted it, even thought all forums on the internet claimed it was a 'super food' and great for morning sickness. I was sick for hours and could taste it for hours. That's why I wouldn't touch it again with a barge pole, mind you, she got a right laugh from my tale of woe.
