Thursday Afternoon/evening Fun - People's Names
36 Answers
I was in The White Co earlier today and noticed the manager's name, one Ms K. Lusty.......personally, I would have a deed poll change.
It reminded me that my grandfather used to 'collect' names of businesses, such as 'Barber the Barbers,' behind the Sloop Inn in St Ives. Or that in Farnham there was 'Commissioners for Testaments & Wills - Graves, Cross & Wills.'
The Graves one reminded me of seeing an A board sign in Southern Ireland, Rathmore I think it was, between Killarney and Kanturk. There behind was the shop, 'Graves - Undertakers,' the board with the lovely message of 'Graves are Open'
Over to you for any favourite names or names/businesses that you may have?

They specialised in small things like garages, extensions etc. Their sign said "specialists in small erections"and , NO, they weren't trying to be funny. I just don't think they realised. This was in the 70s and maybe people were more innocent and naïve then.?
