High Tide On The Thames

Reading the reports of high water on the Thames today. Although there are pictures, not much of an explanation. Does this imply the barrier is not in use?

Well the link says the barrier will be effective until 2050. Hope we don't have a repetition of the 1950's London flooding on the estuary.Keep calm and think of the Sahara. :-)
