The instruction says that the unchecked letters when taken in natural order....

What does taken in natural order mean?

Right now, they mean nothing when taken in any order.

There are 4 clues, two at top and two at bottom.
8 unchecked letters in any order mean nothing. No anagram possible.
That is when I thought that the phrase - when taken in a natural order- may mean something.

The crossword site prohibits any discussion until after the deadline.
The site publishes one puzzle per month. (Could be a hint)
My question was more English language related.
I thought the phrase meant either in clue order or in alphabetic order.
I wanted to know if it meant anything else.
