Why Do People Keep Large Snakes As Pets !
31 Answers
During my work, I meet all sorts. Last week, I interviewed a young woman that had a 6 foot Royal Python as a pet ! I don't mind corn snakes but this thing gave me the willies ! It was HUGE !
She sat there, on the sofa, with it round her neck and I never took my eyes off it for one second. She asked me if I would like to hold it, and I nearly passed out !

I agree Mikey. I am not afraid of snakes but it seems to be a pointless to have a huge one like that as a pet. They are beautiful animals but very powerful. How can anyone converse with a snake like one does with cats, dogs and even some humans.

Cats and dogs have been pets of man since ancient times. My little Willy ( ! )
gives me untold love and affection, and I would lost without him.
But you can't take a snake for a walk in the Park and if you were rash enough to let it sleep on the bed at night, you might not wake up the following morning !
Those huge great Iguanas are the same...van you imagine giving one of them a cuddle !

The young lady that I interviewed was remarkably candid about the snake. It belonged to a previous boyfriend of hers, that she kicked out a year ago. He couldn't take the snake back home to his Mum, so she was landed with it.
She was honest enough to say that towards the time when she was due to feed it again, every 10 days or so, she did confess that she thought it was "eyeing her up" somewhat !
A shiver is running down my spine just typing this !
The worst that Willy does, if I am a bit late with his dinner, is to stand and stare at me. If that doesn't work, he goes into the kitchen and barks until I can stand it no longer and give in.

No problem - because Willy is never likely to think that, because his normal dinner is not forthcoming, he will enjoy YOU as a substitute - but the snake owner cannot say the same!
