Spam In A Can - What's The Secret?

I have recently rediscovered my fondness for Spam - the meat variety (although some may disagree), not the dodgy e-mails. However, after twice nearly giving myself a hernia or popping out my eyeballs, I again have failed to squeeze the damned substance out of its metal shell.
Does anyone have a foolproof (or, at least, mostly successful) way of getting Spam out of the can in one solid block that I can slice and grill?

I understand what you're trying to do but, since an unfortunate encounter with a Spam fritter in the 1960s, my advice would be buy it then throw it straight in the bin.

Open the can at the wide end, break the fatty seal all round with a long knife the stick a fork in dead centre to wiggle and tease it out.

As Mamy says, still a load of faff, but I may try 'Chico's video tip next time. How come they don't have that key-'n'-strip that other tinned meat used to?
