My husband is always moaning that i don't drink a full cup of tea. No matter how big or small the cup i will always leave about 2 cm in the bottom. I am not sure why. Does anyone else do this?

Perhaps ingrained habit. Were you brought up on tea leaves? Before teabags no one ever drained their cup to avoid getting a mouthful of leaves.
Yes, I do... always. I live in a very hard water area and despite doing everything possible to soften the water, there are still traces of chalk in the water.
I always do. I think it's because before tea-bags were invented, you would always get a few errant leaves settled to the bottom of your cup after it was poured from the tea-pot. Therefore, you left a little tea in the bottom of the cup because you didn't want to swallow them.
No, I certainly don't moan when you leave 2cm in the teacup.

well perhaps if you lived with me you might canary. I am of course practically perfect in every other way, so he has to moan about this one thing else there wouldn't be anything to moan about :)
;-)
I've never drained a teacup or coffee for that matter as you always get bits in the bottom of brewed coffee and even tea bags sometimes leave little grainy bits.
Yep...never finish a coffee. I always leave about a third. I guess it's from the days that we didn't have filter on our kettles and you'd often get limescale in your cup.
Me too. Yes you can get little bits of tea in the bottom even when using a tea bag and getting that in your mouth is really gross. Tell your husband if he doesn't like it, he can drink it himself.
Maxwell House Coffee has, or used to have, a slogan that said "Good to the last drop"...Or was that Otis Elevator's slogan: sometimes I get confused.
I go along with the others. You used to have tea leaves at the bottom of the , so left them. My grannie used to read them and taught me a bit about it, must buy some proper tea!
Yes I do that with my coffee. Hubby keeps saying what a waste of milk.
No I don't, I have a friend who does though. I nearly always empty my mug.
My Mum
I always drink all of it.
Me too, I always leave a bit at the bottom.
Is he worried about the horrendous waste of energy and resources?
I always leave half a cup. I also leave the crusts on my sandwiches and toast.
The last sips are always too cold
I used to do it,my Husband started to brew me a mug half full with the comment 'well it saves you leaving half'.
'er indoors makes a cup of tea, and then doesn't drink any of it.

I think she finds boiling the kettle therapeutic.
