A Rant About Barbie Nadeau

Of all the books written about the Meredith Kercher murder, the most horrible and vitriolic was by Barbie Latza Nadeau. She called it - "Angel Face: The True Story Of Student Killer Amanda Knox". Great bit of open minded journalism.

Ms Nadeau made her money by repeating the bizarre theories fed to the Press by Prosecutor Mignini. I have made my views about both Barbie Nadeau and Giuliano Mignini well known in the past.

So now, the Supreme Court have published the transcript and reasons behind the final Acquittal.

The investigation was "stunningly flawed" (the Supreme Court have really thrown the book at Mignini)

There was a "complete absence" of any biological traces.

There were "glaring errors", "amnesia" and "omissions" in the investigative process.

There was no credible motive or reason.

The lower Court had ignored experts who had “clearly demonstrated possible contamination" of the evidence.

There was no evidence that Amanda was in Meredith's room.

The murder weapon theory was a nonsense.

The supposed murder weapon had been hidden in a cardboard box by the Police.

There was no credible DNA evidence.

The hilarious bra clasp evidence was a nonsense.

There were no credible witnesses.

"All the evidence" pointed to "a single killer".

So by embarking on the ridiculous media circus which was Mignini's ludicrous and expensive campaign against Amanda Knox, Mignini has put Meredith's family through eight year's of needless heartache.

And the journalist who most supported Mignini in this witch hunt was ... Barbie Latza Nadeau.

The Supreme Court could have ordered a new investigation. But they haven't, because they believe it is now too late. Mignini has wasted every opportunity he had.

So, because of Giuliano Mignini, and people like Barbie Nadeau, and all the people who lapped up the "Amanda must have been involved" story, the Kerchers will never know the truth.

And now, when the Supreme Court publish their finding, whom do CNN choose to write their first report?

Yes ... Barbie Nadeau!

It's like asking Adolf Hitler to write an article titled "maybe I was wrong about the Jews, but I still think I was right".

Nadeau makes money from a book trying to show that Mignini is right, and Amanda is guilty. Then she is proved wrong, so she makes more money from an article explaining why she was completely wrong, and Amanda is not guilty.

Can we all get jobs like that, please?

Of course, there will still be people around the world who remain suckered in by the Mignini hate campaign, and who magically know more about the evidence than eight years worth of Italian judicial investigation, and who will still think that Amanda "must have been involved". But, as the Supreme Court have pointed out, it's because of those people that the Kerchers are never going to know the truth.

And because of people like Barbie Nadeau.

I'm no barrack-room lawyer but doesn't the title alone render them guilty of libel?

It renders her guilty of being a bit opportunistic.
