Some time ago I replied to a similar question with CAMASS - CAM being a river and ASS being beast - may not be correct but could be?

And I replied with BEAVER which also may not be correct but could be.

My apologies fergol. Looking at it like that, then yes beaver could well be correct. Pity the person who asked the question before didn't come back to us and tell us the answer !!! - but then again maybe the competition/crossword/quiz hasn't closed yet. Anyhow, I was quick to denigrate your answer and I am sorry.

Hello biley,

I previously asked about this question and yourself and fergol kindly replied.  I've sent the sheet off and rightly or wrongly put Beaver as the answer.  Its a local charity quiz which hasn't closed yet and unfortunately I can't remember the closing date. I enclosed an Sae for the answers so by all means I'll let you know what it is.
