I went on a travel site looking for a travel companion because I don't want to go alone a lady contacted me saying she needed someone to go with as she had been let down very badly by friends who had cost her a lot of money. We met up and spent the afternoon together to see how we got on she had been contacting me all week before we met up she said she wanted to book our holiday as she had been let down so badly previously and assured me by saying I new where she lived as that was where I had picked her up and where she worked I gave her a cheque for my share of the holiday. I then suddenly didn't hear from her alarm bells rang in my head I did a check on electoral roll nothing came up I cancelled the cheque a few days later she text saying she couldn't go on holiday for personal reasons and she would rip the cheque up. Pay attention to your gut feelings they are usually right I think I will stay home and not bother about a holiday

Can you join a group holiday arranged by a legitimate company that specialises in single people getting together to travel? It would be a shame to miss out on holidays.

I used Riviera Travel to go to parts of southern Spain last year and there were lots of single people like me. Not cheap, but at least no one is going to run off with your cheque.

Or Leger.co.uk no single supplement. I haven't used them personally but may be worth investigating.

My Sis, who is single, travels with Titan. They aren’t singles holiday as such but loads of single people go, as well as couples and pairs or groups of friends.

What was this site? Was it any of those suggested to you on your other thread about singles holidays? You can still go on holiday alone without risking pre-planning with complete strangers off a website.

Thanks for your messages I will bear them in mind I just think it is so sad that people are just waiting to prey on the vulnerable what ever happened to love they neighbour I'm just glad I do not live like that at least I can sleep at night I wonder if they can or are they just thick skinned anyway thanks again for your comments everyone take care
