The survivors, from Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and Egypt, spoke to the BBC from the southern Greek city of Kalamata, where they are being held after their rescue.
According to the group, about 240 migrants left the Libyan port city of Tobruk heading for Italy.
Seems to me like the whole world is trying to get into Europe Illegally.
Dave.

OK EDDIE - they can stay in their own countries and work to make them decent places to live then. That's enough. They still have no right to come and avail themselves of the civilisation we have built up - they need to stay and do it for themselves; just as their young men need to stay and fight for their countries. Move the women and kids out of the war zone, then organise AND FIGHT. Full stop, OK.
From another thread earlier tonight, (Eddie doesn't care)

Just picked up our new mobility car, 7 seat Zafira 1.6 eco diesel. 12 miles to a( £1.03) liter of diesel , no tax, insurance, service or repair costs plus free recovery service . So I think my pension will stretch to a few more years yet. As long as there are plenty of immigrants to work and pay tax to fund it ! ;-)
Britain and USA created a vacuum in Iraq by getting rid of Saddam. Saddam was controlling that country very nicely. Later on Tony Blair accepted that they made a mistake.
Then Britain and USA created another vacuum in Libya by toppling Qaddafi who had stood against American intervention for a long time. Later on and very recently Obama accepted that Libya was his biggest mistake.
Problem is not that they made mistakes. Problem is that they are making same mistakes in so many other countries and when the time will come when they would say “sorry, we made a mistake”. And even biggest problem is that govt are not alone, people also support these actions and you will see in a minute in the responses this post will get. Although they can’t deny what I have said but would try changing subject by talking about irrelevant things. Wait and see.
History is very clear that over the decades (if not centuries) Western countries have created, armed and supported dictators where it suited them and then got rid of them when they were not required anymore.
People of those countries and around them suffered a lot but most importantly the whole world has, is and will be suffering for many years to come. And this mass immigration is one part of it. Every action has a reaction and these things are part of that.
