Thank you so much fiction factory I couldn't find an Alistair Darling in fiction the Darling children have other names, but the others are brilliant thanks again.

You could be right with just Darling but why treasury man. The first one is also beyond me please help if you can, you must be very well read, Thanks.

Actually I'm not much of a reader any more- just a few a year, although I still remember To Kill a Mockingbird
I think the treasury man is just a supplementary clue to Alistair to point you to the name Darling
