What is the bizarre coincidence between two police officers shot dead during routine traffic stops, one in Texas in 1963 and the other in London in 1966?
Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks very much
Tippitt in Texas (22/11/63), Tippet in London 1966
Have you got a link to the London Tippet please Mr Chirpy.

Also the US Tippet was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald when he was walking along after the Kennedy Assassination. It wasn't a routine Traffic stop ?
I think MrChirpy may be referring to one of the officers shot by Harry Roberts (Cop killer).
According to a link that I have just now read, the 3 officers who were shot in the Harry Roberts case were:
D. Wombwell
C. Head
G. Fox
No sign of a Tippett there.
This is a list of police killed in the line of duty since 1900. No Tippett there.

Fair enough.

Thanks for all your interest - I'll look into it.
Google Murderpedia - Harry Roberts.
One of the three policemen he shot in 1966 was Det Sergeant Christopher Tippet Head.
Ah, now that makes sense. Cunning! Never thought of a middle name. Well done.
Never uncover only one stone in an investigation ;-)
Slight error with spelling, name should end in double T, Tippett.
