I think I have the answers to these but as I can not parse them, I am not sure:

20a Long distance traveller in immense rush to reach railway: it could be nip and tuck! (8,7). I have "cosmetic surgery". I can see ry=railway, and rush - or maybe immense rush = surge. Long distance traveller might be comet but where do the s and ic come from? Help!

19a A boy with ace character (7). I have "persona". Boy might be son, ace might be a, but where is the "per"?

3d Inexperienced person's place for putting butter? (9). I have greenhorn which fits inexperienced person. Butter might be a goat or other animal with horns, but can't see how it parses!

Belated thanks emeritus. And thank you again scorpiojo - my 21st Century Chambers will be dispatched to the charity shop and be replaced by my rather battered 20th Century one called out of retirement. It seems to have so many more definitions despite the advertising blurb for the newer one!
