I am wanting to use a piece of oil cloth on a shelf, the trouble is that it's been folded in my cupboard for quite some time and now it has creases across it.

Normally I would iron any fabric I wanted to use but can I do that with oil cloth? It's a bit plasticy isn't it?

Maybe I could try ironing on the back? What does anyone think?

Ahh Thanks Tony, so my thought of ironing on the back was right. Will give it a tentative go.
Best of luck, silliemillie.
