Thesaurus Books

do any ABers know which thesaurus has the most entries? i am currently using the oxford paperback version and find that there are lots of words that are not listed. it is very frustrating!

The problem with seeking a decent printed thesaurus is that, with so many online sources now available, nobody really finds it worth the vast amount of work which has to go into producing one.

I still love my Roget's though, backed up by the hardback Oxford Thesaurus.

Otherwise you'll probably need to use online resources such as Thesaurus.com

An excellent 'middle ground' solution though, using a program actually installed on your computer (rather than an online resource) is the free version of TheSage. It's what I use when compiling crosswords or seeking crossword answers for AB members. I wouldn't be without it!
