American Actress With Titan Hair

Please help me out. On Pointless, yesterday, there was a picture question in the head to head and one of the 'Carols' shown reminded me of another actress whose name is escaping me. She has lovely long titan hair, looks slightly Irish and although not a superstar actress has been in lots of good films. I can see her in my mind's eye but the name is eluding me. Suggestions please. I only need a name, not a photo.
