third time lucky, in the left hand column there is IW written over the word DERAS and in the right hand column there is IW written over ER with a squiggly e in between the IW and ER the e resembles the lower case symbol for epsilon.
apologies for that, the dingbat is hard enough

Hops, all I was trying to do was give a clue rather than the answer as there is some time to go before it closes. Think of where IW is..

OK hops, I'll keep pondering.

Can't remember how to ASK a question! Having bought this again because I support the Hospice! I resisted the temptation to attempt this quiz again until the season of goodwill had passed. (I have NEVER got it all right!) I can see no logic in three of the dingbats - Q41Tin Tin above Ms MacPherson (Elle? Model? Host? Two cans?);Q45 Lily Rose Tulip Daffodil in a vertical list but Rose has two lines through it (others are bulbs?); Q48 MATCHSIRS (anagram of Christmas but mixed up? muddled up? nothing seems to fit the theme apart from the word. Any 'pointers' please?
More people will see it if you post a new question :)

Thanks but need to be on the Broadband machine down in town (later to day) so I can copy and paste/post - not this silly bit of equipment. To be truthful, I found you the most helpful later year. When I saw you had replied in the Latest Posts column I couldn't even find it 'til now. Ah well! Back to the drawing board!
I'll help if I can :)
Thank you. I appreciate that. I was hoping you would reply before I posted it for all and sundry. I was rather put off this site last year as some people responding seemed /awfully sanctimonious and/or critical. Any clues on the three I am MOST stuck on please?
Not sure if I'm on the right lines..

For Q48, google 'tradition of Christmas pudding'
MATCHSIRS - Christmas Crackers?
41... possibly.... there are 2 whats and a who...
Ah, I was going for Stir-up Sunday..
Ok, for Q41...Tinsel? What do you think, Calibax?
Hi Jo, Yes tinsel looks good - Tins + Elle
Ta :o)
MANY thanks to both of you for the pointers! I hadn't noticed the responses as I was still ploughing through the Google site of Christmas puddings - and learning lots though nothing relevant so far....
Oops, sorry about that...
Oh don't apologise. It was fascinating though, as yet, not enlightening. I am off out now but will be back to let the hounds loose after 2.15pm. Thanks you for your advice so far if I am castigated for my ignorance and give up in despair again. My husband has already threatened to "throw that thing in the fire"!
Still working on
