The Mail know that half the stuff they publish is not true, so they actually budget to make payments such as this. To them, £15,000 is bread crumbs.

The one to watch Melania Trump's lawsuit, who is suing them for $150million. She appeared in court this week to advance the legal action.

The difficulty with this is that mud sticks, no matter how loudly Hopkins apologies (or not so loudly !)

Amusing that Hopkins apologised on twitter - at past 2am in the middle of the night. If she was hoping to minimise the number of people who saw it at that time, she was wrong. It has become the most re-tweeted thing she has written on the social media, and has been very widely distributed.

That was part of the settlement - they were told to by law.

The Mail should really apologise to its readers who paid money for news, but who instead were given lies.

Gromit....the difficulty here is while millions of people saw and were taken in by Hopkin's lies, few will have seen the retraction and subsequent apology.

So ......the DM and Hopkins have achieved their original goal and that was to insult this family and imply that all Muslims must be like this.
