Crown Court Plea
1 Answers
I will try and be as short and to the point as possible here. I pleaded guilty to 6 offenses in the crown court. Personally, I think I'm only guilty of 1-2 but I followed my barrister & solicitors advice to plead guilty. I thoroughly regret pleading guilty. Charges relate to offensive weapons found in MY car. Weapons were not mine.
The co-defendant, pleaded not guilty at the plea hearing. He and his barrister have since made a plea deal. Part of his plea deal was to drop one of his offensive weapon charges. He got this dropped as he and his barrister claimed the offensive weapon in question was not found in the car. This weapon was found at his house.
My question is, how is this possible? If the prosecution dropped his charge as the weapon was in his house not my car shouldn't that mean I get the charge dropped aswell?! It means I pleaded guilty to something I was not guilty of.
If this makes any sense I'd appreciate any help. If not I'll try and explain a bit clearer.
