I asked Greenfingers and was told I would lose my warranty if I cut it but didn't get an answer to my question. Anyone got any ideas please?

A hacksaw if it is not too thick.
Search for "tin snips" in Screwfix or Amazon; they'll do the job. The trouble is that you'll leave the edge with no galvanising on it, so it may corrode, hence the loss of warranty.
If you use anything that generates heat eg. a grinder then be careful not to breath in the fumes. It will make you feel as if you have got the worst flu symptoms ever, it's zinc poisoning.
try and avoid cutting as it will leave an exposed area that will corrode...it will bend back on itself I think
Minty, I am having second thoughts about you after your comments about appendages. Would I allow you now to get close enough to XXOOXX ?
LOL Donny xx I had one person's bits in mind not the whole of mankind !!
You are restored to my XXOOXX.

Thank you all for your answers. Actually I've found one I like better, more expensive but hey it's only money. Whichever I choose, 0.6mm is the thickness.

Danny would a hacksaw cut through that? Bhg I'll have a look for the snips shortly, good idea. Donny I shall avoid using a grinder thank you. Mm I have to cut it, no choice, and a few times as well. It has to fit level with wide white steps as they descend a sloped garden. I don't want it coming down like a ski run so has to be fitted precisely up against each step and the steps are varying sizes. The aesthetics are paramount. Danny the Hammerite stuff sounds good, thank you. In fact you've all been brilliant. XXXX
