Please can someone help me with this query about question 87.
I have got two answers - both of which seem perfectly feasible.
1 begins with A and the other with G. Any comments gratefully received !!!! P

As a matter of interest, what are we looking for exactly with this Quiz?

If it is 'Places in London', 'Stations in London', or 'In a London A-Z' then I think the answer would be Arsenal
Things, places, people, connected to London, and as I said it's a very sneaky quiz. The answers are rarely straightforward. Far from it!
Think I would go with Arsenal, a bit more 'actual' than Gunners; and with your mentioning of the Periodic Table, Naomi and subsequent explanation, it makes more cryptic sense.

Naomi24 I have asked several times now why this quiz is singled out and people are made to feel they shouldn't ask or shouldn't answer and as yet no one can tell me. All the quizzes asked on here are for some charity be it large or small
smouse, I've queried it before too - to no avail. I think it's utterly wrong to deter people from asking questions here and I'm at a loss to know why those posts aren't removed. They're certainly not good for business!
I often add the details of quizzes to threads - helps sell more.

I rarely answer questions, have given clues but that rarely works.
Mamyalynne, I've discussed this with you before and rather than answer questions relating to this quiz you usually reply with something like 'There's plenty of time' - and you do the same on the other website. What is it with this quiz in particular?
I've done it with many quizzes and got called out for it - I shan't bother in the future.

I've had the title 'Quiz Police' 'Condescending' and been asked what it's got to do with me, but gradually you like the feeling of stopping the head on wall approach.

So - I shall just advertise if I think a quiz needs it.
Mamyalynne, that still doesn't explain why you do it - but if you're going to stop deterring people from posting questions on this quiz that can only be good news for the questioners - and for the people who run these websites.
I don't think I do try to dter people, most quiz queries are answered before I even see them - if something has a long date I have mentioned it and often will link to the details so others can send for it.

I did used to ask quizzes on here at first , then got bitten by the bug and along the way did some setting too.

I do far too many per month re the cost of stamps but I love it.

I shall continue to advertise quizzes if I think the thread warrants it.
^ deter - sorry , just done eye drops.
Mamyalynne, I disagree with you. Perhaps you should re-visit your posts.

I'm going to bed. Night.
Night.

Thank you all for your comments !!! Needless to say I am none the wiser - there are valid reasons for both answers ! Perhaps the setters will be kind and allow both - highly unlikely !!! P
Pea Brain, Working through the logic a bit more (if that’s possible!), I think ‘Gunners’ is the answer – the logic being that the Royal Artillery is not specifically attached to London but the Periodic Table bit of the clue gives ‘Arsenal’ as the answer - and the Arsenal football team, also known as the ‘Gunners’, is definitely London based. I hope that makes sense.
Personally, I would go with ARSENAL for the reason that the chemical elements explicitly spell it out. Unless you have other answers that are equally perversely sneaky it makes sense to stick with that as it is more obvious. I think if the answer DID turn out to be ARSENAL and you had put GUNNERS you might be kicking yourself more than if the reverse was the case.
But good luck either way.
Also, if the answer is explicitly given as consisting of 7 letters (and I have no idea if it is) then that would also suggest ARSENAL, as strictly the RA and the football team are THE GUNNERS
ichkeria, many of the clues and answers in this quiz are equally perversely sneaky. Unless the 'RA' stands for 'Royal Arsenal', I'm thinking ARSENAL can't be the answer. Far too simple.
I think the opposite to Naomi, and would go for ARSENAL. I tend to favour, as in a cryptic clue, that the elements would have to add up to the answer directly and not indirectly.
