Can anyone explain 12dn - "Church's framed art turning up in closet?". I believe the answer is 'clandestine' which fits with 'closet' but I can't parse it and it is driving me nuts! I assume CE is the church but the rest is lost on me!

Art turning up - Landest?

+ in
Hard to write sensibly sorry - think archaic speak.
Mamy . . . am thinking archaic . . . but still . . . woosh!
Hast thou landest ?

I'm struggling here lol.
as I'd say - 'art tha' here yet?
Does clandestine fit closet? I'd have thought compartment was nearer the definition of closet.
Mamy . . . as it's late . . I will 'appen, accept thy parsing along the lines of hast thou "landest in" (arrived) - but would have been happier if t'clue had said summat , as like, " up in t'closet."

As for Cashier's suggestion, all I can say is Ecky Thump but . . . I am tired . . . and it is well past my bedtime !
'Closet', adjective, 'clandestine; secret; covert...'

I had Mamya's parse as well -

...'landest (thou?)' - 'art (thou) turning up?'...
^ He has a better way with words than what I duz.
My Grandma used to tell Granddad to get tid closet and that had nowt to do with him being clandestine.
My Granddad once mistook the closet for the privvy - all hell to pay.
That's what I meant Mamya
