My RAC membership is due for renewal. Has anyone got any recommendations of other companies that you have actually used recently?

I broke down right by the train station and called the AA who I was with at the time. It would have been easy to find me due to my location. I waited 1 1/4 hours and eventually gave up and walked home. When I got home in the early hours I phoned them and they said they had come out but couldn't find me. The lying toerags - I`d never go with them again
I've always used Start Rescue for my cars/bikes - only called them a couple of times and they were very quick & efficient - especially so when my car was being used by lone female who had a nasty puncture on a motorway - excellent prioritised service for her.

Hard to comment on how competitive their prices are in general, as they seem to vary (as they should) with the age of your vehicle and your callout record - but I always seemed to get a good deal.

I'm with the RAC because I get a good deal through my insurance. However I've used these people in the past and I'm happy to recommend them:
