You probably won't remember this:

.... but approx 6 and a half months ago I started on my journey to have dental implants fitted.
Well today was the big day - final fitting of the implant crowns and tonight will be the first night in aaaaaages that I won't have to take my denture out and place it in some water on my bedside cabinet.
To say I can't stop smiling at everyone is a MASSIVE understatement ..... one happy chappy at the mo ;)

Ohhhhhh - you are so brave. Implants were offered to me too but when I saw the gruesome video - I said no.
Having said that I went for a titanium bridge cost me £2,500 - can't wear them as they cause me big blisters so paid another £650 for a plastic denture from another dentist.
Glad too you didn't get a cowboy of a dentist. I do hope they are great for you Giz.

Jenny - it's no where near as bad as what the video suggests.
I made the mistake of doing lots of research and watched a few videos - some of them looked a bit gruesome to be honest .... it almost put me off, but after my denture snapped, I was determined to go ahead with it.
After having been though it, I can honestly say it's really not that bad ..... go for it .... no more dentures :)

Haha - BA awarded to jno :)
Anyway - just wanted to add that that was strange, sleeping with a night guard (specially moulded to fit my bottom jaw).
I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I instinctively went to take my denture out before I cleaned my teeth this morning.
I still can't stop smiling lol :)

//// Just a scrub with toothbrush and paste should do it - I found Colgate works a lot better than Oral B. ////
My dentist said specifically not to use toothpaste as it's too abrasive. Better to use soap and cold water - not warm or hot water, as the night guard is made with heat, so using warm or hot water could possibly cause it to go out of shape.

//// Did you have all your teeth replaced with implants, Giz? ////
Just 2 front top ones. I had an accident on my bicycle when I was approx 14 years old and knocked my front top 4 teeth out ;(
I've got a bridge and a crown, which needed replacing due to gum receding over quite a number of years and I had a 2 tooth denture, which I now longer have :)
