At a village fete, a stall gives out twelve sweets to every adult and nine sweets to every child. Of the 379 people who attended that day, only three quarters of the adults, but all of the children chose to take the sweets. If the stall started the day with 3,500 sweets, how many were left at the end of the day.

I think I've done it....... seventy five percent of the adults taking 12 sweets is the same as one hundred percent of the children taking 9 sweets. Multiply the 379 by 9 which equals 3411. Take that from 3500 which leaves 89 - the correct answer.
