Why Is The 'home' Channel On Freeview Tv Playing Non Stop Death In Paradise Programmes This Weekend Instead Of Its Usual Home Tv Programmes?

I saw the same last night. And I WAS on the correct channel.
I looked at the uktv schedule, and Death in Paradise was on it. Rather odd.

No better this weekend...back to back Hetty Wainthrop. Aaarrgghhhh!

UKTV have probably only paid for the broadcasting rights for a certain number of showings of the their 'home-orientated' programmes, leaving them with a gap in their schedules. At the same time they've got episodes of Hetty Wainthropp which they've paid for unlimited showings of, so they're just 'balancing the books' within their schedules.

Alternatively they might have very few advertisers who're prepared to pay for weekend slots on the Home channel, so they can't afford to show programmes which cost a lot in broadcasting rights. (UKTV is meant to make for the the BBC, which co-owns it, not to lose it!)
