What should be done to protect those in the public eye from right wing extremists, who resort to murder when someone opposes their views?

How many right-wing Brextremists have committed murder?
right so islamic loonies are the same as brexiters are they? Right oh! New ground for the vichy British SP?
apologies I was thinking of lee Rigby. Still I don't think brexiters are a danger. We are not the ones trying to find a way of subverting the democratic will of the majority. The extremist here are the remainers who want to find a way to ignore democracy and collaborate with the enemy.
'What should be done to protect those in the public eye from right wing extremists, who resort to murder when someone opposes their views?'

The same should be done to protect those in the public eye from left wing extremists.

However, how on earth does anyone stop one sole individual from murdering someone?
what about the left wing brexiteers? they got us over the line.
The same as should be done to protect people from any kind of extremist that resorts to murder when someone opposes their views.

If they openly make threats that's surely an offence for which they can be arrested and dealt with.

However, there isn't much you can do about people who just decide to commit random murders out of the blue, as with the case of Jo Cox - a horrific but unpredictable act. Same with the scum that decide they're going to get in a car and drive it into a crowd of people. It's pretty much unpreventable.
Jo Cox was murdered by a white extremist, nothing to do with Brexit.
I see I pretty much paraphrased albaqwerty's answer.

I would not make anonymous threats to anyone, nor do I support those that do.
But if Brexit, that is the democratic majority decision of the population be scuppered by these people, believe me, you ain't seen nothing yet!

I don't see why have to bring colour into it.

Lee Rigby was murdered by a Black extremist, but it was never reported that way, why should it? Muslim extremist was quite sufficient.
I think I understand the overreaction to the headlines, but I'm unsure "right" has much to do with how she feels. If being described as a mutineer is the worst she needs to cope with then she's lucky. The threats do need to be looked into though. They are totally unacceptable, and I suspect little to do with any newspaper article, save for that breaking the news.
AOG, where have I brought colour in to anything?
Mair is a white supremacist AOG ... why not mention that?

Talbot, you really need to ask why AOG doesn't like that?

/// AOG, where have I brought colour in to anything? ///

/// Jo Cox was murdered by a 'WHITE' extremist ///

I don't generally like shouting, but if it is the only way to bring your own typing to your notice, so be it.
Yes, she was.
Well there is the fact that White is not a colour - nor black for that matter

They seem to be recognised here Baz

That's Wikipedia for you.
Anna Soubry is without doubt the most irritating woman in politics having recently taken over from Ms Sturgeon (following her quietening down a bit following the General Election). She is obviously accustomed to getting her own way and is prone to hysteria and hyperbole when she does not.

She is berating the Daily Telegraph for printing photographs of fifteen MPs (including her) who announced that they would vote against the government on the issue of fixing a date for our official departure from the EU. The firing line into which they have placed themselves is completely unrelated to the circumstances in which Jo Cox found herself. As I said, hysteria and hyperbole.
