Autumn Quiz Romanian Aid C/d 9Th December

Me again!... ...the answers are all parts of a house, including fixtures and fittings that can be found in a house. Some SOUND like the word and some are contained within the complete answer.

The question is Andy Capp's wife (3)

I know it is FLO, but is a flo (flow) a fixture or fitting?
Am I missing something here???

I read it to mean that either a part of a house is contained in the solution or that the solution sounds like a part of a house

Ooops, I didn't expect it to cause such a discussion (LOL) but was interested to see all the comments. I hope you all think that I was right to query it, although I was surprised that no-one else did?
After reading all the points made, I think I'll go with the 'overFLOw' ? (although I still don't agree with how the number of letters have been done!!)

Check Q32 for a similar example of a sounds like clue.

Having reviewed the posts on this thread, a possible conclusion may be that the clue "Andy Capp's wife" (3) is not the most appropriate within the "theme" of the quiz?

I see what you are saying Mamya, but at least Q32 has the letter numbers correct (5,4)

As I said early on, I think the instructions are misleading and that's why I mentioned a for instance may help.

Perhaps the letter count should have been 5 rather than 3?

I just filled it in and will send mine in to help the Charity, too many to lose sleep over.

If the answer should be 'Overflow' (no mention of a pipe or anything in clue).

I'll be glad if someone who gets that wins.
