Clue " As a ruler he took some stick ! "


Has anyone got a convincing clue or answer for this. So far there has been one clue only. I cannot see the connection with Aaron except that he does have a Rod (Stick).? Any help greatly appreciated

Kosoro. Thanks for your prompt reply. That gives me two possible answers. Aaron and Herod. Clearly yours is the better solution but is it as straightforward as that ! ? I wonder if anyone out there has any other thoughts?
