A multi region DVD player, which is dirt cheap nowadays, is the answer, johnboy...
Hill Street Blues was, and still is, sheer class.

Its often very easy to find a code to allow your player to play other regions.

Region 4 is Australia region and will play in a Region 2 UK DVD player no problem.....got some myself from Oz.
