I am genuinely wondering what difference it makes, mamya. The attitude is enough to put people off itself, so it must be something that makes a huge difference. However, it isn't important enough for setters to sell the quizzes up to a date and send them all out on the same day, they would rather fight against the internet... I find it bizarre.
Smouse - you can't have it both ways. Eds recommendations should be adhered to both by the askers and the "complainers". Ok the asker hasn't complied, but the complainers went TOO FAR and became aggressive, contrary to Ed's recommendations. By all means state the points - but read the complaints again - they became too personal and aggressive, equally contravening this sites rules and recommendations. I will always be against BULLYING because that is what it is.
Setters report that when a quiz is asked heavily, sometimes almost the whole thing (once one poster starts asking , others follow) they get quiz sheets back from regular entrants saying they'll no longer do the quiz as it's been spoiled.

That's just one instance.

Like many I have retrieved my post in the morning and seen a quiz I have reived that day asked on here in the afternoon, does make me sigh.

I am amazed how many are averse to sending in with a few blanks on the sheet - something I do often.

Anyway the main thing here is this quiz has rules and if you don't like the rules of the quiz - bin it.

Ah Ok, thanks xx I would say it's up to them not to look online if they don't want to see the answers... maybe write "spoiler" at the top of Q&P
Or follow the rules of the quiz, there's plenty allow asking.
I assume you pay for the quiz when you buy it- maybe people aren't aware of the rules until it comes through? And by then, they have already paid.
I don't mind people asking for answers when it gets near to the closing date, but I think it's a shame that quite a few ask for help within days of a quiz being released and seem to make little effort to work the answers out themselves. I get huge satisfaction out of getting answers (not always the right ones) and spend ages researching and pondering. I have sent entries in unfinished too.
I just suspect that it's a losing battle... and there might be a better way without putting people off.
Surely people have spare time when they have spare time though? Maybe they need shorter times between sending out the quiz and the closing dates.
Not sure I'm with you there - they pay for the quiz, get the quiz then read the rules then decide to ignore because they didn't know the rules before paying?

I realise some may not read all the rules but some do and decide to ignore and then we have another of these never ending circular debates.

No solution I guess.

Off the enjoy the rest of Christmas week.

Happy quizzing.
Ok, I thought the rules came through with the quiz, rather than before it.
Take care xx
They come with the quiz sheet yes.
