I don't think Trump was using an analogy: just wading in with two left (or should that be right) feet as he usually does.
He seems to think the protesters are trying to get rid of our health service and replace it with the "system" that prevails in the US: when the exact opposite is the case.
His outburst has had the effect of uniting politicians here, so I guess that is a good thing. It's a pity we can't stay united in tackling the problems within the service instead of using it as a political football.
the NHS covers everyone. The US system leaves 28 million people without cover; it also costs more and people still die younger. I posted some statistics somewhere yesterday.

///The Nhs Is Broken///

is not actually what he said is it?
Yes, you missed out a word;
their system is going broke. There's not much doubt about that.
Define ‘broken’ and ‘not working’.
For many millions it works fine. The problems caused by people abusing A&E, health tourism and missed appointments coupled with a lack of recruitment funding (for both Doctors and Nurses) are major factors in its inefficiencies and need to be addressed.
//He seems to think the protesters are trying to get rid of our health service and replace it with the "system" that prevails in the US//

Does anyone have the exact tweet he made because none of the papers seem to say there is a comparison, more it is an observation, which if doctors and nurses are to be believed, is correct?
The tweet is in the link YMB.
ZM, you omitted pruning the management which would do more good than throwing more money into the pot.
Danny, as my wife is a hard working NHS manager I have some inside information on this aspect. I can’t speak for the whole of the NHS but for the areas she works in, I see nor hear of any inefficiencies /bad management. Do you have any specific examples of this oft quoted bad management?
//He seems to think the protesters are trying to get rid of our health service and replace it with the "system" that prevails in the US://

So he didnt say that then. He simply said people were marching because the NHS is going broke (which it is) and then uses that to justify not going the US Dems route of higher taxes. Nowhere does he suggest we should change our system as you insinuate.
ZM, my wife works in admin and one daughter is a doctor, both in different trusts. Both do not agree with your wifes view, both think management is appalling and bloated.
ZM, I did not mean to infer bad management.I just think that the management side of the NHS is overstaffed.
C’mon everybody, this is just typical Trump. Jumping in and making an irrational, ill informed comment. He’s all bluster and no balance.
There is also a degree, as with many of his tweets, of word manipulation. Isn't there?
Danny, again, do you have any Evidence of this, or are you going by rumour?
Mrs Z often works a sixty hour week and is then on call at weekends. She’d hardly need to do that if they were over staffed. Again, this is only one department but I’d be grateful if you could provide facts and figures on other departments where this happens.
YMB, He’s so woolly and vague that semantics are possible with all his utterances.
I agree, but one has to wonder why some, and the msm, always take a certain direction. One that suits their agenda of course.

I also think you need to have a word with Mrs ZM. Mrs YMB (and mrs xxx nee YMB) have not witnessed such dedication from management, quite the opposite in fact. Mrs YMB has worked in same area that has done same work for 15 years during that time management has increased by nearly three fold but they are one consultant less!!

I’ll have a word ;-)
Have the shop floor workers and patient turnover increased in this period? As I said, I can only go by her department.
ZM, read posts by YMB.
I have. I have also commented on same. Still waiting for you to back his statements up with some facts tho.
