try this out, may need a calculator though!!!

think of a number greater than 1 less than 10, multiply this number by 2, add 5, multiply by 5 (told you you might need a calculator), if you have already had your birthday this year add 1755(if not add 1754), bear with it, now subtract the year you were born, you should be left with a three digit number. the first number is your original number you picked, the other numbers are your age !!! so how does that work then

(Starting digit) = x
(multiply by 2) = 2x
(add 5) = 2x + 5
(multiply by 50) = 100x + 250
At this point your starting digit (x) has become xhundred (x00 which is why the number you first thought of ends up in the first position.
The other part of this intermediate result is 250
You asked us to add 1755, so it is no real surprise then when you see that 250 + 1755 = 2005!
Of course, when you subtract your date of birth from this (2005 - dob), you will get your age as a two digit number (let's say yz).
You have done both these sums together, so you have xhundred + yz = xyz as your three digit answer where x was the number you thought of and yz is your age.
You are just getting confused because you are mixing up two calculations.
