Converting Meter Reading To Kwh

Having tried all formular off the net I am hoping you guys can help.
Both Gas and Electric meters are metric and readings as follows.
Gas start 31085. end 32308
Electric start 2158. end. 2393
Formular tried was units used x 2.83 x 1.02264 divide by 3.6 but this does not give the Kwh figure on my bill

Electricity meters record in kWh anyway, so 2393 - 2158 = 235 kWh. Gas consumption is measured in either thousands of cubic feet or in cubic metres, so 32308 - 31085 = 1223 thousands of cubic feet or 1223 cubic metres, depending upon whether you've got an imperial or metric meter. Gas consumption is measured in either thousands of cubic feet or in cubic metres, so 32308 - 31085 = 1223 thousands of cubic feet or 1223 cubic metres, depending upon whether you've got an imperial or metric meter.
If the figure is in thousands of cubic feet you need to first convert it to cubic metres by multiplying by 2.83 (giving you 3461.09 cubic metres). If the figure is already in cubic metres then 1223 will be your 'starting figure' in the following paragraph:
Take your 'starting figure' from the previous paragraph (which is 3461.09 if your gas meter is calibrated in thousands of cubic feet but 1223 if it's calibrated in cubic metres) and multiply it by the calorific value (which isn't in your post but it will be on your bill - it's probably 39.4). Then multiply that by the current volume correction (which your post shows as 1.02264). Divide the result by 3.6 to convert to kWh.

I read my bord gais meter weekly, work out the kwh and every bill, I'm usually a few Euro ahead, this is how i do it, just an example of my latest reading, frommlast week,
Meter reading 8243 minus 8053 (reading from last bill)
= 190 x 10.9894 = 2088 kwh
2088 kwh x 0.0037 (carbon tax) = 773 (round off to €7.73)
2088 kwh x 0.05132 (unit rate) = 10716 (€107.16)
number of days since last bill 63 x .2266 = €14.26
add all those, then divide by 100 x 13.5 to get 13.5% tax, add that and you have what should be the bill you'll be getting, works for me every time

Okay thanks. I wasn't querying the bill calculation- I was trying to reconcile the readings with the stated kwh which I'd thought would be a straightforward subtraction. I assume then that in ROI the units for electricity meters are not in kwh. But yes, even in England there is an explanation of how to work out consumption and your bill- including for the messier gas calculation.

I've just looked back through Telboy's posts and I can see nothing to suggest that he's in the southern part of the Emerald Isle. Indeed I've found references to his phone and TV suppliers that suggest that he's definitely in the UK
So the 'RoI' reference above might be a bit of a red herring. (Further, I can't think of any units other than kWh that an Irish energy supplier would choose to use anyway).
