Recently Rowan mentioned white feathers after a bereavement ......I've heard so much about this and dismissed it......well sort of.
Dave and I are sitting on the patio and we were chatting about a lass we know who gave birth to twins last month....one was born dead and one lived only a few weeks.....this has upset us both tremendously.....
As we were speaking two lovely white feathers floated down onto the patio......
I found white feathers on my patio and in the house when my cat was killed. I didn't know what they signified until I googled it so wasn't subconsciously looking for them.
Sorry, I don't believe re the white feathers. I have heard about pictures falling off walls when people are about to die though which is a bit weird. Happened when my Mum died and various other relatives.
The dogs howl in our family, not a normal sort of howl it goes on for ages ( we've got a Malamute so they do howl anyway but this is a different sort of thing).
My Gran had a picture on the wall at the top of her stairs. One night it fell off and bounced all the way down the stairs. The nail was intact and the next morning when she spoke to relatives, her friend died that night.
I also take some comfort from white feathers, but to be honest they probably escaped from my pillows and cushions.
I still say hello to my mum when I find one unexpectedly, though.
My next door neighbour had a picture that was very special to him...he had to go into care for a while so I was taking care of his house.
I went in one day and noticed the picture had fallen behind the sideboard and was smashed......went home to a call to say he'd died.
I had the picture restored and still have it....don't much like it but it's my memory of him....he was a lovely man...x
Oh you've reminded me, Rowan....I sent MrG to the butcher for Sunday lunch....he came home with a half dead tree.
He planted it and cared for it and it was beautiful until he died and then it died too....x
I just want my blue tits back, they came the last time on the night he died and haven't been seen since. Now if it was blue feathers I'd blame the local raptors
MrG and I loved Red Kites and were very involved when they were being re-introduced here.
When I was thinking of buying this house after he died a friend and I, viewing, sat on the patio as I dithered...until a Red Kite did a low fly past....
You have your answer, said Sue.....and I did.... :-)
