an interesting article, i was taught about our kings and queens the romans, the wars in europe etc, why try and denigrate it, nothing to be ashamed of in it, well not to me...why is corbyn consumed with black history, hardly ever saw a black face back in the day, as for there history
all i knew is they came from a place called africa, oh and martin luther king, but that was in the states and not here, we were not lynching black people here or had separate fountains etc.
seems like corbyn is trying to spin americas racism problem with the uk...hard to describe.
im not saying it was all rosey here, but certainly not like the states, specially the southern part.

It’s because his girlfriend is black.
he wants us to bow down about racial issues, and needs any excuse to make us do so, he is a poor excuse for a man. let alone a politician.
I wouldn't put him in charge of playtime at a junior school.
nor would i
He's an embarrassment.
Tom Utley shows his arrogance in just one small paragraph when he says "the focus was more on the exploitation of workers than on the prosperity it brought". Doesn't that say something about the reporter himself? Hundreds of thousands of workers in this country exploited for the benefit of a few snotty industrialists and Tom Utley sees nothing wrong with it? The man's a complete armpit.
The reporter isn't aiming to be the next Prime Minister.
//we were not lynching black people here//

There was at least one instance in Liverpool in 1919 when a black immigrant from the Gold Coast was lynched by gangs of local Brits.

Also I'm pretty sure Corbyn's partner is Mexican.
I thought Cassa meant Diane Abbott. Oops.
He's still an armpit though. It's obvious.
I did indeed mean Diane the abacuses Abbott.
Thanks Cassa.
No surprise he's a standard anti British lefty who thinks more of terrorists than he does of the UK people.
surprised BrainFr1g isn't here telling us we're all lowlives unless we worship at the altar of the mighty COB.
What a stupid article. The child got his Luthers mixed up and the teacher pointed it out. There is no indication that the school didnt teach about both of them, only that the boy wrote about the wrong one.
interesting that Mr Corbyn - and the article - mentions Paul Stephenson. the Bristol Bus Boycott is an important part of UK black history a played its part in the formulation of the Race Relations Act. but mr Corbyn should remember that in the matter of the colour bar that led to the boycott, no small part was played by the labour-party-funding Transport & General Workers Union, and their motivation would be familiar to today's audience; a fear that the outside incomers would dilute the earning potential of "the members". I wonder how "ashamed" mr Corbyn is of that part of the history of the labour movement?
Question Author
seems some of the left do not like our shared british history, want to rewrite it, to show black people had a share in shaping it, not sure if they did in tudor times or elizabethan or before that, are they ashamed or something, or it they want ethnics to feel they alos have a shared history here..inclusive so to speak, i just do not understand his logic, i also wonder if there was another war, would any of the left join up, or would they just have marches, while being protected by the people have despise...fickle cowardly traitors.
Corbyn is as much entitled to his opinion as you are.
