I solved the Alpha puzzle using the word “rotund”
It worked for me

Yes, that's why I asked "Is there a way of checking whether it's right, ryasmin?"
If there are no letter counts I am not sure how you solve it. Are there several clues and answers that all fit together somehow?

I've found a 'grid' now.
So ROTUND worked.
Still seems a weak clue to me but well done
