The 3 Greek Fates

I am giving a presentation on Atropa Belladonna (deadly nightshade) and am explaining that the genus part of its name 'Atropa' comes from the Greek 'Atropos' who is one of the Greek Fates. Although I know this, I have no idea how Fates is pronounced. Is it the same as the English 'fate'? If you know, please write it as it sounds for me. thanks
