Struggling with this but in particular looking for some pointers re Luca Cumani's National Hunt winner, as had always thought he only trained on the flat.

Purple Moon, I think. It was moved from Nicky Richards to Cumani in early 2007 and ran two hurdle races at Musselburgh. Jan 5th 2007 won. Feb 4th Musselburgh ran 2nd. Went on to run on the flat and famously just lost the Melbourne Cup in Australia. Flemington racecourse. I think that this is correct.

I'd had a bit of a look round but with not following owners/trainers didn't really know where to look.

Haha Captain. I thought I had better get on the case...…….knowing that the question would be "driving you mad" once asked. It was me. :))

I would think that Ken missed the post as he is our stats man. An interesting one for Ken. Cumani only ever had the 2 runners under N.H. rules and finished with a 100% place, and 50% win strike rate. Cannot imagine any other trainer with better stats.

It's not Purple Moon. it won a hurdles race in Feb 2007 for Nicky Richards and then moved to Cumani in June 2007 and only won at York and Goodwood for Cumani.

Many thanks for help. I thought of Purple Moon but question is looking for a horse ridden by Francome, Smith Eccles, King or McCourt.
So presumably must be in his early training days.
