A great success it seems. Should other supermarkets follow suit and if they did would you use the service? I think it's a great idea.

It's a great idea to a point.

For me, I never go out to the supermarket, it's delivered. Secondly my council are actually very good at recycling so it's already collected so if I have to drive out to drop bottles in then that's stuffing a load of unnecessary pollution into the atmosphere.

However I'd like to see it rolled out - anything to stop this horrible plastic problem many of us saw coming years ago. Now we just need to move to stop using "plastic" as much as possible in things like clothes which are hardly worn then dumped.

I think it's sad that people have to be tempted by financial reward to recycle plastic, but if it works it can only be a good thing.

I recycle religiously ..but this seems a better idea for bottles...no idea what happens to them once the recycle bin is taken away from here

I get my shopping delivered so recycling banks in shops are of no use to me. My council have just reduced the types of plastic that they recycle to types 1 and 2 only, the rest goes for incineration. Apparently its a closed non polluting system and the resulting heat is used so better than landfill I guess. When I started checking plastic instead of just putting it in the recycling bag, i was shocked at how little was types 1 and 2 and how much had no code on at all.

I've started buying my fruit and veg loose and have asked Tesco to put them loose into the paper bags they provide.

yes, excellent scheme, we should adopt it pronto. I'd probably just throw the bottles in the recycling as I do now but I don't mind losing the deposit.

I buy veg loose also and have started taking bio degradable wee liners to use...get them in the £ shop...once they start falling apart then they go in the recycle bin

It'll be a good incentive for kids to pick up litter.

yes ummmm, like I did when I was a saucepan, hunted for bottles with a deposit on them, corona etc.
