He was actually going to have an op for torn rotary cuff, but he couldn't mentally go through with it. (Sqad advised that he should carry on with physio) As he isn't getting any you get, there's no guarantee it would be successful. I personally didn't want him to have it done. He's only just got back to some sort of normality! It would have meant at least 6 weeks not being able to drive. I did mention the dartboard! Thanks again for asking. Your input was greatly valued.

Thanks Patsy. Sorry for the delay in replying. I was given the option of an operation which would have meant having it 9 months after the accident. I turned it down, bought the dartboard and went on the golf driving range whilst continuing with my physio. Having been given the chance to have an op, I turned it down because I was told the success rate was minimal for someone my age (that one again!) as it would be like stitching tissue paper. I believe the recovery time is 2 years without surgery. Progress will be slow, but I can assure you there will be progress. Having said that, I don't think my shoulder will ever be 100% but I would guess it is now about 95% and no trouble. It's just going to be patience and exercise, Patsy. I hope he's better soon.
